Townmead Road Re-use and Recycling Centre

Townmead Rd, Kew, Richmond TW9 4EL, UK – 020 8876 3281

Overall this place is good, but can be very busy a lot of the time. I use it fairly regularly as it's my closest recycling point. I find it is easy to use, with most things clearly signed and when I haven't been able to find the right area, staff working there have been polite and helpful. The site is a big improvement on the muddy dump it was before. The main improvement I would like is a better traffic system that means I can get out once I'm finished, without being blocked by the queue of cars waiting to get in. For those reviewers who complain about the staff tearing open the black bags. This done to ensure the highest amount of waste is recycled, as some users just want to dump and run. And no I'm not related to, or friends with anyone working there.

I use this place quite a lot. Although the staff vary they're generally helpful and polite and while they may mildly scold you if you bring too much they are usually not Jobsworths. A reasonable balance. I hope they maintain this policy. DIY can generate a lot of waste, and rules aimed at men in white vans just penalise normal citizens. Not that there's anything wrong with men in white vans.

Acton Re-use and Recycling Centre

3 Stirling Rd, London W3 8DJ, UK – 020 8993 7580

Bear in mind the summer/winter closing time as winter does not match the info Google info please view pictures uploaded for correct timings.

Small when compared to Greenford & doesn't accept certain stuff like rubble but efficient enough & the staff are pretty friendly. Be warned: they often make last entry 15 minutes before actual closing time.

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.
