Local Bookshops

Waterstones

2-6 Hill St, Richmond TW10 6UA, UK – 020 8332 1600

Let you and family detox from ipad, my 10yr old daughter loves going to waterstones, though we have hundreds of books she insisted on buying another, what a great way to protect book writers and build a generation home library.

This bookshop seems to have a lot of space but it's maybe not used very well. Good selection of nonfiction at the very top of the building but I wasn't impressed with the fiction. It'd the first time I've been in a bookshop in a long time and the fantasy/science-fiction area was pretty tiny. I suppose that's because that market is buying more on Amazon these days. Friendly and helpful staff though. It is a relief to know that there's still a shop you can walk into and get a book though. There can't be many of those these days.

Osterley Bookshop

Osterley Bookshop, 168A Thornbury Rd, Isleworth TW7 4QE, UK – 020 8560 6206

A lovely little gem for book lovers. You can find a great selection of art books and cards here.

Lovely, perfectly packed secondhand bookshop. Full of treats, quiet and relatively easy navigate. Great range of cards too. Heartily recommended.

The Sheen Bookshop

375 Upper Richmond Rd W, London SW14 7NX, UK – 020 8876 1717

Such a lovely team and like the other reviewer says, use Amazon then call them up and they'll have it in for the next day minus the postage. A great way to shop local!

Really helpful and pleasant. I use them like Amazon and phone up to order a book - whatever it is they get it the next day. Save on postage; avoid the hassle of not being in when the parcel is delivered and give custom to a local business which pays its full quota of tax!
